Papigo! Imposing, famous for its wild beauty and the zagorian architecture. It’s the most popular village of the Zagorochoria, located about 1000 metres above the sea level. It is divided in two “machalades”: Mikro (small) Papigo and Megalo (big) Papigo.

Just above the village rise the “Towers of Papigo”, two vertical rocks measuring 300-400 metres in height, whereas the highest summit is Astraka (2436m). This exquisite beauty is complemented by the fact that the village is situated in the centre of the Vikos-Aoos National Park.

This is the idyllic place that we chose to build our hotel with great love and good taste. Its name is “Arkefthos”: it’s the perennial tree whose trunks were used to build the roofs of the houses in the village. Moreover, there is a forest of mountain arkefthos trees at the west slope of Mount Lapatos, above the village, which is the biggest in Greece.
